Reopening day
We’re back! After a very busy autumn and winter, this is your first opportunity to see the changes we have made at Sittingbourne Viaduct station.
During our break we have completely rebuilt the platform and laid a new pathway and waiting area. The new platform is higher and wider than the old wooden and, being concrete, a lot more robust!
For more information on this project click here.

The platform reconstruction work on 1st January 2025 – this section will be completed before reopening day.
A quick return trip takes as little as an hour but it is suggested that you return on the following train, giving you a two-hour round trip (obviously this doesn’t include passengers arriving on the last train). This will give you plenty of time to explore Kemsley Down and still enjoy a drink and a sausage roll!
If you are visiting with children, they may want to take part in the Roamin’ Rex Wheels of Time activity.
Rail Riders Club members are welcome to visit today.
